Week 5: Let Your Light Shine

exodusoutreach

Updated: Jan 26

Theme: "Let Your Light Shine"

Scripture: Matthew 5:16"In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven."

Reflection

God calls us to live as reflections of His love and goodness in the world. When we let our light shine, we point others to Him through our actions, words, and lives. Our good deeds should glorify God, not ourselves, and inspire those around us to seek Him.

This week, focus on being an example of God’s love through your actions. Consider how your life can reflect His goodness, even in small, everyday ways.

Journaling Prompts

  1. How can your actions this week reflect God’s love to others?

  2. Think of a time when someone’s kindness or example brought you closer to God. What can you learn from that experience?

  3. Who in your life needs encouragement or love right now? How can you be a light to them?

Daily Reflection Plan

  • Day 26 (Jan 26): Meditate on Matthew 5:16. Reflect on how your life can glorify God through good deeds.

  • Day 27 (Jan 27): Identify someone in your community who needs encouragement. Plan one way to uplift them.

  • Day 28 (Jan 28): Perform an act of kindness anonymously. Reflect on how it feels to serve without recognition.

  • Day 29 (Jan 29): Spend time in prayer, asking God to help you be a light in a specific situation.

  • Day 30 (Jan 30): Write down three ways you can consistently show God’s love in your daily routine.

  • Day 31 (Jan 31): Reflect on any opportunities this week where your actions brought glory to God. Write a gratitude prayer.

  • Day 32 (Feb 1): Review your week. What did you learn about letting your light shine? Commit to continuing this practice.

Prayer for the Week

Lord, help me to let my light shine in a way that glorifies You. Guide my actions to reflect Your love and goodness so that others may be drawn to You. Teach me to serve selflessly and live with purpose. Amen.
