What must I do to be saved?

REPENT - Acts 3:19. First, you must repent. Be truly sorry for your sin. Like the prodigal son see the awfulness of it. The Bible declares, “Godly sorrow worketh repentance.” Jesus said,“Except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.”

CONFESS - 1 John 1:9. Second, confess your sins. Not to men, preachers or priests, but to God. “With the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” David said, “I will confess my transgressions unto the Lord ... Thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin.”

FORSAKE - Isaiah 55:7. Third, be willing to forsake sin. “Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and he ... Will abundantly pardon.” Sorrow and tear for sin are not enough in themselves. One must be sorry enough about sin to want to be done with it once and for all!

BELIEVE - Romans 10:9. Fourth. Believe in the finished work of Christ on the cross. Believe in the Substitutionary character of it; that He died for sin not His own, but that “the chastisement of our peace was upon Him.” Our sins nailed Him there, and “With His stripes we are healed.” “Believe On the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved.”

ACCEPT - John 1:12. Fifth.  Christ must be received personally into the heart by faith, If the experience Of the New Birth is to be yours. “But as many as received him to them gave he power to become The sons of God.” Will you pray - Being convinced that I am a sinner, and that Christ alone can save me, I NOW accept Jesus Christ as my personal Saviour and will by His help, confess Him before men.

John 6:37 ... "All that the Father giveth me shall come to me, and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out." Christ must be received personally into the heart by faith, if the experience of the new Birth is to be yours.

WHY?

Jeremiah 29:11

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
(1 Timothy 2:4 KJV)
